1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. They make it possible to recognise your device on a return visit, to remember settings, or to analyse how the website is used. Comparable technologies (e.g. local storage) are treated under the same legal standard.
2. Consent and legal bases
Storing information on your device and accessing it are governed by Section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG):
- Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the operation of the website and do not require consent (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Any subsequent data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a functioning website).
- Statistics / analytics cookies are used only with your prior, voluntary consent (Section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent no analytics scripts are loaded — not even the Google tag itself.
On your first visit our cookie banner offers "Accept all" and "Reject" with equal prominence; via "Preferences" you can choose categories individually. Your decision is stored in the ck_consent_v2 cookie.

4. Google Analytics
Subject to your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-J3SP341KDQ), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). The Google script is technically loaded only after you have given your consent. IP anonymisation is active; your IP address is truncated by Google within the EU/EEA before further processing.
Where data is transferred to servers of Google LLC in the USA, the transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) of 10 July 2023, under which Google is certified; standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) apply as an additional safeguard.
You can additionally prevent collection by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Further information: Google's privacy policy.
5. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your selection or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). To do so, open the cookie preferences — the link is also available in the footer of every page. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
